About Jeff Mitchel
My name is Jeff Mitchel and I have been an investment advisor since 2008 and tax professional since 1978. I graduated from UCLA in 1977 with a degree in political science.
While at UCLA, I was very fortunate to watch the last two basketball teams of the legendary Coach John Wooden who retired in 1975 after winning his 10th national championship – a record that still stands to this day. After his coaching career, Coach Wooden was hired by corporations to deliver inspirational lectures. He also authored many books on basketball and life including several books about his Pyramid of Success.
Coach’s Pyramid of Success is made up of 25 building blocks and I believe 7 of these building blocks are particularly relevant to building, managing, and enjoying your wealth:
INTENTNESS – Set a realistic goal. Concentrate on its achievement by resisting all temptations and being determined and persistent.
INTEGRITY – Purity of intention.
PATIENCE – Good things take time.
SELF-CONTROL – Practice self-discipline and keep emotions under control. Good
SKILL – A knowledge of and the ability to properly and quickly execute the fundamentals. Be prepared and cover every little detail.
ADAPTABILITY – to any situation.
I believe successful investing and wealth-building can be summed up in terms of these building blocks: Put effort into designing a financial plan based on realistic goals. Control your emotions, use good
